Seasoned Sydney entertainers Bobby Benton and Marvin Storm combined in late 2009 to form an acoustic duo. Please don't let the words 'acoustic' or 'duo' fool you. Audiences to date have been quick to comment on how big and full their sound is. Two man band rather than duo better sums up this line-up, with Bobby and Marvin playing two instruments each simultaneously! With no use of backing tracks or sequencers of any type, Benton & Storm capture the true spirit of live playing - what you see and hear is what you get! 100% live and able to instantly take a crowd anywhere they want to go.

BENTON and STORM's show is based on the crowd pleasing winning formula that Bobby and Marvin employed as The Swinging Sixties in the early 1990's every Sunday night at The Woolloomooloo Bay Hotel. As well as still playing many favourites from the 60's era they now have included hits from the 70's through to 00's. Ask Bobby and he'll tell you, "I'm not biased. A great song is and always will be a great song no matter when it was written!"

During their first year and a half as a duo Bobby Benton and Marvin Storm have proved to be a big hit at numerous 40th, 50th and 60th birthdays as well as weddings.

I have attended numerous performances by Benton and Storm. I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every performance. Both Daniel and Nick are professional, courteous and thoroughly entertaining.
 
I recently held a party for my birthday. It was an amazing night and I have had nothing but compliments from friends and family who attended. It was a fabulous venue, food and entertainment. I cannot recommend Benton and Storm enough. For the past 12 months I did not consider having anyone else perform for both myself and my guests at my party.
 
I wish Benton and Storm all the best in the future and I know I will be attending many more performances.

Bobby Benton and Marvin Storm met back in 1988. As front man for The Swinging Sixties Bobby was at the time auditioning for a singer/guitarist and Marvin stepped in. Aside from making great inroads into the corporate function scene, the highlight of The Swinging Sixties early 1990's period was Sunday nights at The Woolloomooloo Bay Hotel where the band entertained audiences of up to 400 people over an 8 year period, and perfected the art of reading the crowd which in turn led to the ultimate sing-a-long! Bobby left the band shortly after this residency ended while Marvin stayed on. After Bobby rejoined The Swinging Sixties in 2009 one night while loading out of a gig he and Marvin hatched the idea of forming an acoustic based duo. According to Bobby, "Soon after rejoining the band I realized that times had changed, baby boomers were out less and the number of venues had diminished. Basically the Woolloomooloo Bay Hotel held great memories but was history!"

As a duo Bobby and Marvin can take the lessons of Woolloomooloo and many other gigs back on the road along with their collection of harmonicas, acoustic guitars and a stomp box. As experienced musos and performers drawing on material from 5 decades rather than just the '60's, they can widen their appeal to a more diverse audience. However most importantly, they can get out a few times a week and do what they love most to do - entertain!
