J. Arlin is a Scandinavian composer, guitarist and vocalist who in February this year, debuted with the EP Bleekers Street. Having released two studio albums and toured parts of Denmark, Sweden and Norway in collaboration with other Danish bands, J. Arlin chose to move to Sydney in late 2010 to concentrate on his own material. Within the first few months Bleekers Street was recorded in small studios around Sydney.
“I love the thrill of being fully in charge of the musical direction. I write, I sing, I play, I record. To be completely alone in front of an audience is an intoxicating experience.”
The pursuit of this feeling has led J. Arlin into the early stages of establishing himself as a vivid performer on the live scene in Sydney’s musical underground, as original recording artist and as a great interpreter of timeless classics.
J. Arlin has through his musical career collaborated with many different musicians on many occasions. Though the acoustic guitar has always been first choice he has played many roles in the different band constellations such as bass, lead singer, pianist, synth.
It is however through the single acoustic melodic performances that he feels at home - A guitar and a voice. Interpreting great classical pop/rock/folk artists as:
• The Beatles
• Elvis Presley
• The Eagles
• Creedence Clearwater Revival
• Bob Marley
• The Police
• Prince
• Neil Young
• Steve Miller Band
• Bob Dylan
But also delivering more recent classics as “Crazy – Gnarls Barkley”, “Who says – John Mayer”, “Tip of my tongue – Johnny Diesel”. A charismatic experienced live musician blending the sounds of the acoustic guitar with a soulful, passionate voice.
