THE LARRIKIN BAND

THE LARRIKIN BAND

An Australian-based Classic Rock & Blues Band with an ethnic Filipino flavour.

Liverpool, Sydney, NSW, Australia

The Larrikin Band members have a varied background which lends well to their carefree style of music as well as their band monicker.

Wally Gonzalez, is well-known as an icon of Filipno or "Pinoy" rock & blues music. A guitarist par-excellence known for his guitar wizardry.

Bert Rejante, the rhythm guitarist of the band, has a blues-based background predominantly influenced by Mississippi Delta and Chicago Blues. Bert also displays influences of classic rock of the Hendrix and early Clapton era.

Martin Serra on Bass has his roots based in Contemporary Jazz, Fusion and R & B. This is predominantly displayed in his session performances at the Basement Sydney, the Vanguard and other live band venues.

Melchor Manila, the drummer, has strong Jazz and Fusion background which he incorporates into the kind of music that he grew up with which is Rock. Melchor is a session musician who picks his associations to suit his style.

Melchor and Martin show great proficiency in their craft, and certainly inject fire into the band's rock & blues music.

Together,  Wally, Bert, Martin and Melchor make up the Larrikin Band and their repertoire ranges, based on their musical styles, from Delta and Texas Blues and Classic Rock to Fusion Jazz.

Their music focuses on not only originals but covers as well. Performances range from pub & club gigs, to tribute performances of chosen artists to full blown rock & blues concerts.
