CATHOUSE CREEK

CATHOUSE CREEK

Old-time mountain music, alt-country, roots and blues trio with vocal harmonies

SE Queensland/Gold & Sunshine Coasts, Brisbane, QLD, Australia

Cathouse Creek is an old fashioned alt-country band specialising in songs from the 1920's - 1950's covering artists such as Patsy Cline, Hank Williams, The Carter Family, and The Louvin Brothers, and contemporary artists such as Gillian Welch, Kasey Chambers, and Neil Young. A  smattering of original songs, some Crosby, Stills & Nash, and a bit of Leonard Cohen round out  their versatile sound. Comprising guitar, piano accordian, and bush bass with an emphasis on vocal harmonies, the experienced and exuberant members of Cathouse Creek play danceable, foot-stomping good-time music as well as waltzes, gospel, and roots oriented material.

Cathouse Creek was formed in 2006. It's members have wide ranging backgrounds in, variously, singing, musical performance, musical direction for theatre productions, music teaching, performance poetry, writing for the page (fiction & poetry), reviewing, manuscript assessment, and community arts. Reliable, professional, widely experienced, & exuberant, Cathouse Creek promises to make your event a memorable one!
