Sydney, NSW, Australia

JASON LEE  A professional career spanning over seven years, encompassing the release of his self-titled EP and debut album    ‘better late than never’ has catapulted Jason Lee to a multi award winning artist and a consistent, outstanding talent on the Australian country music landscape.

Quoted by raves and review editors as having “one of the finest voices in Australian country music” this accomplished guitarist and singer/songwriter has captured audiences at many of the country’s most popular festivals and events including a fiercely loyal following at the Tamworth Country Music Festival annually, Gympie Music Muster and many of the Ute musters and BnS balls nationwide.

‘better late than never’ Jason’s debut full length album, portrays his jubilation relating to its final release and showcases his strongest beliefs, passions and the subjects closest to his heart.  Most of the messages of love, hope, hurt and even political issues that Jason Lee hoped to share could only be delivered through the gateway that he knows so well.  The album was produced by Simon Johnson (Hillbilly Hut) and was mixed and mastered by Ted Howard at Rancom Street Studios. It features the talents of Glen Hannah, Aleyce Simmonds, The Davidson Brothers and renowned session guitarist Brent Mason.

Several tracks off the album have already guaranteed themselves longevity due to their incomparable lyrical content including the first single released ‘A Memory’. The track is a tribute to Jason’s father recalling memorable moments from his childhood. It received major airplay and earned a place on many charts all over Australia including CMC where it reached #16.  The track also leapt to #1 on Hot Country Queensland sitting steady for 3 weeks as well as a position at # 17 on Country Tracks charts and #10 on KIX Country Top 20.

Jason Lee was announced the 2010 winner of the Capital News Australian Independent Rising Male for the Southern Star Australian Independent Country Music Awards as he released the second single and clip for “Up A Creek” which reached #8 on Country Tracks charts.

After a highly successful 2011, more award nominations followed including CMC New Oz Artist of the Year, People’s Choice Awards, TSA New Songwriter Of The Year and Male Artist Of The Year for Meet N Greet People’s choice awards. Jason was also named a top two finalist in three categories of the Victorian & National Country Music Awards where he took prize possession of all three awards being National Male Vocalist Of The Year, National APRA Songwriter Award and National Heritage Song Of The Year Award.

The third release off the album ‘Ordinary Guy’ is perhaps the most controversial track and no excuses are made for same.  It depicts Jason’s response and emotional plea to the country’s politicians to “get their heads out of the clouds” after he drove through a broken down town in Victoria where government funding or attention was desperately required.  The clip and single were extremely well received and elevated the perception of Jason Lee’s song writing abilities to a new level. ‘Ordinary Guy’ and the industry and fan based reaction to it, earned him a nomination in the 2012 Jayco Golden Guitar New Talent of the Year Award in Tamworth 2012.

After experiencing and purposefully implementing many positive and dynamic lifestyle changes recently, Jason Lee has been enticed to further song writing with prospects for a new album on the horizon.
