The Prairie Oysters are a four piece award winning country rock band known for its killer set list of country and classic rock.

Doreen, Melbourne, VIC, Australia

The Prairie Oysters have been raising heck and eyebrows all over the country since 2005 with their brand of country rock that's been accurately described by Amazon music as an explosive cocktail of country, rock and blues.

The Prairie Oysters have been making friends around the world with their music, showmanship and their sense of humor and fun and have been going strong ever since.

Little did they know in the bands early days, that there were a lot of people out there who liked what they did and that things would actually take off and eventually become their main musical focus. The band's musical influences reach out far and wide; from early music legends such as Hank Williams, Johnny Cash and Roy Orbison, to modern icons including Paul Kelly, John Fogarty, Tom Petty and The Eagles.

The band’s repertoire is a killer set of good time music selected to the suit the audience they play to at the time. The Prairie Oysters have clocked up their share of travel points performing all over Australia from major cities to remote areas. They have played at some of the biggest music events in the country including the Tamworth Country Music Festival, Deniliquin Ute Muster, as well as pubs and clubs around the country, corporate shows, outback rodeos and shows and to remote communities and territories as far away as the Cocos Keeling Islands.

The band has built up a very diverse audience ranging from inner city bar dwellers, to outback country music fans with their set list of songs that cater to a wide audience.

In addition to their live shows, The Prairie Oysters also record their own music and perform their own shows on the country music circuit.  Their two studio albums have won them critical acclaim with international airplay and sales as well as several music awards and nominations including a Golden Guitar nomination.

“It’s been one heck of a ride and we’re having a ball. Thanks for taking the time to visit our site and we hope to see you around the traps” – Tony Bonnici, The Prairie Oysters.
