The Wolfe Brothers as seen on Australia's Got Talent.
It’s another Saturday night…and chances are, somewhere in the peaceful island state of Tasmania, one typically quiet country pub has undergone a drastic transformation. The usual four locals that prop up the bar has swelled to a packed house. The tills are ringing as the fridges undergo a mass exodus of Bundaberg Rum. There’s people here of all ages, shapes and sizes, and all walks of life, and they’ve come here for one damn good reason…to party! To get rowdy, laugh and dance away the worries of the working week. There’s a corner stage and that’s where you’ll find the ring leaders of this rawkus circus. Four local lads with one common goal – to give these punters the time of their lives! Meet…The Wolfe Brothers.
Having gone through school together and being from the same area, the four guys have been playing together for a number of years, mostly with a focus on covers music. The Wolfe Brothers have become one of Tasmania’s more successful cover bands, playing gigs all around the state and into Victoria.
The Wolfe Brothers are an exciting modern country-rock group hailing from southern Tasmania. The four piece outfit is fronted by brothers Nick and Tom Wolfe and joined by Brodie Rainbird and Casey Kostiuk. Since the release of their self titled debut E.P in May 2010 (released digitally June 23, 2010) things have pleasantly hectic for The Wolfe Brothers. The group has supported John Williamson, Wendy Matthews, Travis Collins, Liam Brew, Crakajak, Diana Corcoran and Lee Kernaghan. They’ve also released two music videos on The Country Music Channel, with the second single ‘You Don’t Own Her’ reaching the top 40 on the CMC charts. ‘Everywhere’ the group’s first video took out the Peoples Choice Awards at the 2010 Amplified Tasmania Music Video Awards. Both clips were a collaboration with acclaimed director Ross Wood.
Consistent touring around Tasmania and into Victoria has gained the band a fiercely loyal following, the past year seeing The Wolfe Brothers gain respect amongst many industry professionals and peers. The group has performed many memorable shows including The Elmore Summer Send Off BnS, Dust Settlers BnS, The Tasmanian Mountain Cattleman’s Get Together, Sounds on the Grounds Festival, Gowrie Park Rodeo, Melton Mowbray Rodeo, The Tasmanian Hospitality Awards and the massive rural field day event Agfest. The group also gained a new fan base with a live set on the popular ABC radio program ‘Mornings with Tim Cox.’
This next year brings an exciting time for The Wolfe Brothers as they set about building their exposure to the rest of the nation through touring of N.S.W, QLD and beyond, setting the foundations for a full length album which is currently in the writing stages with an release date in mind of early 2012.
