Damian began studying flamenco guitar in Australia with one of Sydney's true flamenco gems Robbie Varga, and shortly after moved to Spain where he has spent four years studying under some of Spain's most recognized maestros of the flamenco guitar. These include Aguilino Jimenez "El Entri" and David Serva in Madrid, Pepe Justicia and composer Jose Luis "Balao" in Jerez de la Frontera, Andalucia.
Damian has also studied dance accompaniment with flamenco legends La Uchi and Toni "El Pelao" in Madrid. After returning to Australia he has performed with the flamenco dance groups of Diana Reyes Flamenco, The Flamenco Crew, Ana Otero and Las Carmonas. Damian composes much of the music in his performances whether for flamenco dance choreography, instrumental ensemble groups or solo guitar recital.
He has also worked with some of Australia's finest exponents of World Music and Jazz. Has worked in conjunction with: Musica Viva, Sydney Festival, Opera Australia, Woodford Folk Festival, Fiesta Darling Harbor. Spanish Festival- Liverpool Street Sydney, ABC Radio, Floriade- Canberra, The Spanish Club's of Sydney, Canberra and Wollongong, Eastside Radio, NAIDOC Week. Side projects: Music for short film "Twirl" by Wipada Polnikorn. Performed original guitar music in 1st place prize winning video in the Australian Audi Arts grant.
