Versatile vocalist Marion Norris has successfully achieved the transition from Musical Theatre, to pop/rock, to Jazz and Soul.

Versatile performer Marion Norris has successfully achieved the transition from Musical Theatre, to pop/rock, to Jazz and Soul.  Marion took her solid classical training and has utilized it to successfully cover and enhance a broad range of styles. Her exceptional range and power have allowed her to perform material ranging from Sarah Vaughan, to Aretha Franklin to Evanescence, and everything in between, souring from the sultry lows to the dramatic highs with ease.
 
After completing her studies at the Victorian College of the Arts, Marion then worked throughout Victoria as an Opera and Musical Theatre performer, also making numerous solo appearances for events such as the National Carols by Candlelight and the National Basketball League finals, performing to crowds of up to 15000 people at the 'Rod Laver Arena' - official venue for the Australian Tennis Open.
 
In 2002, after working for a number of years as a freelance vocalist for many local bands and duos, Marion established her own duo 'Moonlight'  with reputable Guitarist Chris Annable.  It wasn't long before 'Moonlight' was in demand, allowing Chris and Marion to travel and perform regularly throughout Victoria and Interstate for weddings, corporate functions bars and clubs.
 
2004 saw Marion take the leap into the International arena accepting her first contract as lead vocalist for a 5 piece pop/rock band at the Intercontinental Hotel in Oman (Middle East). This led her to a second overseas engagement working with renowned Australian pianist Robbie Ragg at the Sheraton-Suzhou Hotel & Towers in China. Working in the lounge, performing popular and jazz standards.  Marion's ability to relax and captivate the audience with her voice and persona led to an extension of this engagement. (October 2005-May 2006).
 
Upon her return to Australia, Marion became involved with 'The Committed' - a nine piece band, delivering many of the classic ballads and high energy tunes from the era of  'Soul'.
 
Marion has most recently been invited to perform at  'Aphrodite Hills Resort Hotel' - Cyprus, beginning September 2006.  With a focus on Jazz, Latin American, and popular standards, this contract will see Marion performing with Kiran Haslam (guitar), and Dean Gaudoin (bass).  On occassion the trio will expand to a five piece, incorporating piano and drums.
 
Fronting 7 piece Canadian band 'Earthbeat', Marion begins a double contract from end April, 2007.  The Hilton Hotel in Malaysia, moving on to Le Meridien in Jakarta, performing current and classic top 40 hits.
