Didi Mudigdo’s in-demand musical talents on vocals and piano keeps him on a hectic international live performance schedule in Australia, Japan, China and South-East Asia, performing either solo, or with his bands bossanova trio Trio de Janeiro and jazz trio Didi Three, which has recorded three CDs to date.
He is part of the disappearing breed of solo singer pianists who can entertain an audience singing hundreds of jazz standards, and pop classics all from memory, while playing a lively swinging groove on acoustic piano, without using any karaoke backing tracks or drum machines.
A popular entertainer, singer, pianist and composer, Didi Mudigdo was the most-downloaded independent jazz vocals artist on the Australian MP3 website mp3.com.au in 2005, and in the same year was a Top 10 finalist in the Australian National Songwriting Contest (jazz category).
Born in Australia to Indonesian parents, he had a multi-national upbringing, living in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Sri Lanka before the age of 12. Currently based in Sydney, he graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in 1997 and has since toured Australia and Asia, performing at many festivals (Sydney Darling Harbour Jazz Festival, Sydney Newtown Food Festival, Sydney Vaucluse Garden Festival, Sapporo Jazz Festival), jazz clubs (Sydney Basement, Shanghai Cigar Jazz Wine, Hong Kong Peel Fresco, Singapore Jazz@Southbridge, Kuala Lumpur No Black Tie, Jakarta Nine Muses Club), exclusive hotels (Four Seasons Sydney, Westin Tokyo, Ritz-Carlton Osaka, Hilton Shanghai, InterContinental Bangkok, Grand Hyatt Jakarta) as well as corporate and private events.
