Jon Davis has an extensive history which takes in live performing, radio & television, and hosting anything from karaoke to corporate functions.

Essentially, JD’s skills come under the umbrella of variety entertainer, and he has been a headline act while touring all over Australia.   He was best known as Major Tom on Melbourne’s Gold 104, and has stuck his face in front of the camera on numerous Aussie TV shows (and commercials!) including Neighbours and Blue Heelers.   JD was also the ‘Blues Brothers’ feature act with Melbourne’s Grand Wazoo band as well as being the front man (John Revolting!!!) in the 70’s retro tribute band, Boogie Nights.   He has also composed and produced numerous radio and TV jingles.

In his ‘One Man, Banned’ show, JD uses the latest digital backing tracks with his acoustic and electric guitars (including his 18-string, twin neck monster!) and performs timeless hits from your favourite artists in his own inimitable style.   It should be pointed out here too, that JD actually performs the authentic guitar solos unlike many other acts who simply strum along!   Throw a girl vocalist into the mix (if you need a duo) and maybe a few gags (which some say are older than JD himself) and you have a great night of entertainment.

JD is best suited to an ‘over 28’ audience because although he hasn’t actually had his mid-life crisis yet … (Errr … Let’s just leave that there …)   Now don’t be fooled into thinking that JD only does old stuff.   Timeless hits are what JD is all about.   Robbie Williams, Jet, Alex Lloyd, The Dixie Chicks (seriously!) and so many others have penned songs that will stand the test of time alongside classic hits from Van Morrison, Elvis, Neil Diamond, George Harrison, Joe Cocker and Eric Clapton.   It is from this stable that JD selects the ‘cream’ (pun intended) to be performed during his shows.

JD is also a fully self-contained act, meaning that if you require an audio system or effect lighting for your venue, JD has the gear available to lift the roof off any auditorium in the country!!!   If it’s a gig for 50 people at the local RSL, he can accommodate that too and country bookings are not a problem!

In short, Jon Davis (One Man, Banned) is about having a fun night with your favourite songs.   If you wanna get up and boogie, you can!   If you wanna just tap your feet, well you can do that too.   Whatever you want, you’ll definitely sing along, because you’ll know all the words to every song … that’s a promise!!!
