JASPER SARKODEE DUO

Jasper Sarkodee has always been compelled to play music. Starting off on drums in high school and absorbing his Dad’s Reggae collection, Jasper learned to love rhythm and the way it dances with melody. Following High school Jasper completed a BMus* at Wesley Institute where he developed his other musical passions- guitar, piano and singing. Throughout his degree he was already playing and singing within the Sydney scene at The Sydney Opera House and The Basement among others. He also had the opportunity to tour with the Wesley choir, singing across China, Korea, France and Germany. Through these varied influences and experiences Jasper couldn’t escape groove music. He has played and collaborated with many amazing Soul and Jazz musicians from across the country. Such names include Electric Empire, Danny G felix, Darryl Beaton Band and Alphamama and the Love Drug and many more.

Now at the young age of 23 he’s decided to focus on his own projects in which he is singing, playing guitar, keyboard and drums ...though not all at the same time! Jaspers original music touches on many styles. With elements of jazz, reggae, blues and rnb. With a powerful yet laid back stage presence and tasteful, interesting arrangements of covers and jazz standards, Jasper creates a warm, intimate vibe that echoes the influence of Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, Kurt Elling, D'angelo, Maxwell, Raul Midon, Erykah Badu and more!

The Jasper Sarkodee duo will deliver a night of great tunes and fun times.
