Koco is one of Melbourne's longest running show bands. It was formed by Mauro Perez the band's leader, in 1984 and became one of the first `cover' bands to play Melbourne's enterging cabaret and club scenes, during the late 80s.

Since then Koco has built its reputation as one of Australia's most versatile bands, with over 2500 performances to their credit. Appearing in hundreds of venues across Australia and overseas; ranging from five star hotels to country resorts. Koco's popularity is due to a number of contributing factors. Together they bring to their audience a wealth of experience.

Koco currently perform to the Melbourne corporate and private markets consistently, yet the task at hand is always the same .... to evaluate the audience and play suitable music for theta. Koco's brand of recognisable, party oriented music always inspires a fun party, satisfying everyone in the crowd. Koco's number one priority is entertainment value, across all musical genres and age groups. They back this concept up with thoughtful song selection front their vast and varied repertoire.


Koco works as a minimum of a four piece band, consisting of female lead vocalist, keyboards, bass and drums. All doubling on vocals. But the baud often extends to five or six piece and beyond, especially when covering the Latin American styles.


Koco's repertoire crosses many styles including lop 40 covers to 70s and 80s dance classics to Latin American party tunes, Jazz standards, Soul, Funk and Italian music. They arc truly a marketing oriented outfit who's aim is to cater for any type of audience.

Koco authentically performs many styles of Latin American music, traditional and modern. these; include the Afro­ Cuban rhythms Salsa, Cha, Cha, Cha, and Bolero. Brazilian samba, Spanish Rumba and Mexican waltzes.

With a repertoire covering such a range of the world's music Koco guarantees the satisfaction of even the most discerning musical palates.


With their state of the art equipment Koco can produce digital quality sound in a live situation. This enables the band to pcrfonu at interstate and overseas venues with a maximum of consistency and minimum expense.


Koco has been support act and / or backing band for legendary entertainment names such as Blood, Sweat and Tears, the Supremes, BJ Thomas, Pat Boone, 'The Platters and Phyllis Diller, as well as a host of top Australian artists.

Some of Koco's credits include seasons at the Seagulls League and Twin, Town Services clubs in Tweed heads, Launceston Hotel Casino, Christmas Island Casino Resort, all the five star hotels in Melbourne and numerous television and radio appearances.
