MARAWA

Ms Marawa is a Melbourne based aerial and hoola hoop performer. She is a regular on the arts scene in Melbourne.
 
You’re likely to catch her around town either teaching hoola or performing at festivals, stage shows or in music videos.
 
Marawa is also an accomplished aerial performer, specialising in swinging/static trapeze and aerial ring. She is one of the most enchanting performers to go through NICA.
 
A gifted drummer, roller skater and skipper, Marawa started performing as a rhythmic gymnast and her love of Hoola Hoops has lasted. With a huge smile on her face she will keep guests entertained as she spins, shakes and dances.
 
Marawa always brings a beguiling persona to her performances, ranging from chic cabaret through to over the top cheeky characters.

Specialties:

Trapeze:
A 50’s style act, think Esther Williams. I perform wearing flippers to a combination of the songs ‘mad about the boy’ and ‘perhaps perhaps perhaps’.
 
Hoola Acts:
 ‘Diamonds are a girls best friend’ 50’s pin up girl style, white 50’s lingerie, covered in shimmy fringing, huuuuge diamond necklace, very high silver heels..
 
‘latino’ kinda south American style, magenta backless costume, again diamonds, huuuuge purple feathered hair piece, gold stockings, gold heels!!
 
‘Marching girl’ red and white backless marching girl costume w gold chain, very high gold heels, white gloves..

bon bon’ I rip out of a giant tissue bon bon with my hoops , cutesy 50’s style costume.
 
‘Messy’ I wear a plastic bikini and gumboots and hoop pre foam soaked hoops paint myself from head to toe with different colours ** can do any colours…
