“THE SINGING CHEFS” have performed all over Queensland, N.S.W., W.A., New Zealand, Hong Kong and were a huge hit at the opening of The Peninsula Hotel, Bangkok. The team of performers are extremely professional, reliable, accommodating and most of all entertaining!
From a tiny European kitchen in the Bordeaux district came the flirtatious SINGING CHEFS. There is Giuseppe - the head chef of the kitchen and guitarist; Marcel, the lethargic, very sleepy apprentice; and of course the true romantic, Pierre. They rove and perform their immortal musical food classics - “What a Wonderful Meal” to the tune of ‘What a Wonderful World’; “BBQ” (to the tune of Barbara Ann); “Hey Food”; “Hot Dog” to the tune of ‘Hound Dog’; and many, many more.
Costumed in chef jackets, black & white pants, hats, neckerchiefs, red aprons, large European moustaches and armed with an array of musical food equipment, “THE SINGING CHEFS” are consistently a sensational crowd-pleaser!
“THE SINGING CHEFS” STAGE SHOW
The show is entertaining for adults and children alike and can be performed by the two or three members of the troupe and takes the audience on a fun cooking-lesson within the Singing Chefs’ kitchen.
Giuseppe, the boss, arrives singing the opening number “Get The Kitchen Clean”, but where is Marcel? Of course! He’s asleep on the job again, most likely on the Puff Pastry. The audience is recruited to awaken Marcel from his dreams, to whisk the weariness from his body and to sieve the sleep from his eyes. A clatter of pans and Marcel arrives tired and sleepy, much to Giuseppe’s horror. What follows is the Chefs’ own brand of crazy kitchen capers incorporating comic Singing Chef songs, recruitment of the young apprentices to become “The Spice Chefs” and learn the Flour Dance, and the mad-capped Chuck a Duck Competition.
The set consists of a very colourful backdrop of a kitchen scene; a large folding workbench area complete with large cutlery and even larger musical notes decorating the front panel; a table of large and crazy vegetables; two chef statues; a hat rack full of black and white check aprons and hats for the volunteers; and the large Chuck a Duck Board. Accompaniments include various sizes and shapes of pots and pans for the ever-popular Is This The Meal That You Want? And, of course, Giuseppe’s checkerboard guitar.
