Kids love him, parents understand him and people his own age just wanna party with him. He is a burning ball of energy ready to explode at your next event or club night.
The New York Times said he was “An adept mimic” Dr. Rhythm aka Jonny Drama is a one-man band of crazy men, specialising in the 5th element of the hiphop culture that is beatboxing! Mixing his mental iTunes of music with his comical personality he leaves audiences amazed and in hysterics, always anticipating.... what the hell will he do next?
In 2011 The Dr. co hosted 65 episodes of a new kids TV game show called “What Do You Know?” which aired week nights on ABC3. He also did a season in November on 42nd street New York with Raw Dance Companies acclaimed theatre show ‘Untapped’ and apon his return home to Australia, he started representing American streetwear label Durkl.
Rhythm has spent most his life annoying the hell out of his neighbours playing drums, and now continues to thrash them throughout clubs and festivals around Australia with Dj Cutloose as the live drum and Dj show ‘Rhythm and Cutloose’.
Dr Rhythm is not only a beatboxer, but an all round entertainer. Spitting sets with mash ups like his famous Kanye West Vs Elmo, Benni Benassi and even some of those cheesy hits from the nineties you chose to forget about. In nightclubs when hyping with Dj’s, he turns Calvin Harris tracks the kids have heard a thousand times into a live dubstep remix on the spot using just the mic, and finally get any club screaming, “Whoop there it is” and other hiphop vocals over top of EDM favourites.
After entering in the first ever New Zealand Beatbox Nationals back in 2004, he ventured to the UK and entered the 2006 London Beatbox Championships which he won, then finally onto the UK Beatbox champs where he placed in the top 4.
The Doc was a stand out act and semi-finalist in the 2008 series of Australia’s Got Talent. He won the 2010 Busking in the Bay competition and was the Gold Coast Blaze Basketball team’s official beatboxer and is Redbulls first pick of Mc for their events.. In 2011 he dropped the vocals on the Silver Sneakers track “Make Your Move” which was on Ministry of Sounds “On the Download” mix.

At 2012 Summafeildayze the incredible UK duo Jack Beats asked him to hype for them He had the crowd of 15,000 or so in the palm of his hand and in his control.
For the last 4 years Jonny has been the preferred host of Rumble Dance Comp and FISAF, which is a national aerobics and hiphop competition.
Not to mention he tours internationally with Raw Dance Company including their sold out shows with Last for One (World breakdance title holders from Korea) at the Singapore Dance festival 2009.
Just some of the artists Drama has shared the stage with are Snoop Dogg, NERD, Raekwon, A-Trak, Jack Beats, Stafford Brothers, The Living End, Lyrics Born, Ugly Duckling, Vanilla Ice, Fat Freddy’s Drop, The Nextmen, DMC champs Cash Money & Dj Kentaro, Optimen, Tenzin, Tom Thum, Sampology, Danny T, The Faders and The Surecut Kids.
The Doc also beatboxed for Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube and Bone Thugs N Harmony at their official Brisbane after-party.
As a stage host/mc at events and clubs he is professional but also himself. Equipped with his mic, loop pedals or drum kit, he manages to keep any event flowing and entertaining, at the times when people need to be kept in their seats or made to go bonkers on the dance floor!
