The songs that the band perform are those made famous by Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Billie Holiday and many others. These songs swing, groove and are the natural accompaniment for any event, from drinks to dance. We also include modern favorites, the occasional instrumental and a touch of the blues.

Catherine Estall - Voice
Catherine has completed a BCA (music) at the Wesley Institute, Drummoyne. In performance, she delivers each song with integrity, searching for the meaning behind the words and then sharing the journey with the audience.
Justen Stoodley - Tenor and Soprano Saxophones, Manager and Musical Director
Justen had completed a BA (music) at UWS. During his first year he was awarded the Quota Club International Scholarship for Performance. Justen plays with emotion and subtlety, weaving a story into every melody or solo, creating a watercolour with sound.
Luke Glanville - Drums and Percussion
Luke is a creative drummer who processes a deep understanding of melody, as well as rhythm. He has the ability to create excitement without using excessive volume, and plays ballads with grace and style. Luke finished his Jazz Studies at the Sydney Conservatorium in 2001.
Andrew Noble - Piano and Keyboard
Andrew has completed a BA (music) at UWS. In 2001 he was awarded the 'Music for Hire' Award. He is famous for his big smile and the sense of enjoyment that he communicates through his playing.
Ben Waples - Double Bass and Electric Bass
Ben has a big, warm tone that provides the foundation on which this band sits. He is also known for his rhythmic accuracy and formidable technique, in both jazz and non-jazz situations. Ben is currently completing Jazz Studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Just for the record, Ben is also an accomplished Classical Pianist.
Please note that sometimes individuals may not be available for every gig. If this is the case, they will be replaced by an experienced 'session' musician.
REPERTOIRE
The Catherine Estall Quintet repertoire is comprised of 'Standard' and 'Show' songs from the 1930's - 1960's. These are songs made famous by Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Louie Armstrong and several other popular singers from that time.
Many of these songs are now enjoying new fame, having been included as part of modern movie soundtracks and in advertising, illustrating the timeless nature of these classic songs. They are romantic, sophisticated, and a little bit cheeky, creating that special atmosphere for any occasion. We also include popular favourites, instrumentals and a touch of the blues.

The service that is provided by the Catherine Estall Quintet begins long before the day of your Wedding. We understand that you may have never booked a band before, and will assist you with your planning and preparation. This may include visiting your chosen venue before hand and liaising with the venue management.
Experience
The Catherine Estall Quintet has performed in all Wedding venue situations. This includes reception centers, restaurants, garden settings, in marques and at private residences. We provide all of our own equipment and can supply microphones for speeches.
