THE HOBBY HORSES

'The Hobby Horses' by Five Square Metres is an outdoor show which combines puppetry, music, dance, comedy, and characters. Using mostly classical music, it is non-verbal and choreographed to imitate equestrian and dressage events.

The focus of the performance, is the interplay between the horses (the puppets), the riders and the audience. The human urge to compete and win an important and prestigious event, inevitably clashes with the horse's primordial urge to rebel and seek solace in eating and playing. While these animal instincts embarrass the snobby horse- riders, they give the audience a humorous spectacle. Duration: -20 minutes
