THE SHUFFLE KINGS

THE SHUFFLE KINGS

This is one of the most dynamic and diverse bands to come out of Australia. The bands energy, enthusiasm and musical expertise creates a feast for the eye and ear. Their performance is a magical nightly extravaganza!

Sydney, NSW, Australia
Unlike the usual fare, the line-up has no guitar and lots of real (acoustic) instruments. In fact they have a section in their live show that is truly unplugged. No amplification or microphones, just brilliant vocals and acoustic instruments. The creative musicianship and repertoire makes for bucket loads of fun.

Their music incorporates elements of big band swing, 50's jump, rhythm 'n blues, rockabilly, world music, ambient music, rock 'n roll and yes even some classical pieces. All this under the motto of 'If we can make it shuffle, it's ours!' Hence, a lot of rock 'n roll, classic and jazz standards have come alive again after. The Shuffle, have re-worked and stamped their own signature of them. In order to stay a 4 piece and still have a brass section, harp, Latin percussion etc there is no pre-recording, they just play two instruments at the same time! This way there is room for improvisation.

In May 1996 this bunch of 'guns for hire' decided to form a band with one of its main goals to reach an unprecedented musical freedom and creativity. They remain the same line-up and their original songs are as popular with audiences as the standards they cover.

The bands popularity in Australia is reflected in the 4 to 5 nights per week they are out there wowing audiences from all over the country. Audiences who find themselves intoxicated with the irresistible urge to dance the night away. No matter what their age, from 15 to 50 they are on their feet for as long as they can keep moving.
