Hello, this is Wayne Fleming the Caricaturist from the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. I’d like to introduce my services to you for your up and coming entertainment events.

Noosa Heads, QLD, Australia
This extraordinary Caricaturist is a must to
add a comedy souvenir for your next event.
Caricatures are a popular form of entertainment for a number of reasons……
  • They take up little space
  • Also provide entertainment for onlookers who enjoy the demonstration of a
    rare skill.
  • Provide exposure for your group with a letterhead or logo.
  • Make an amusing souvenir of the event.
  • Is low key in that it does not compete with other entertainment such as musicians.
The artworks may also depict the subject as a full body involved in a favourite hobby or occupation with a caption or nickname.
For nearly 20 years of drawing caricatures at a wide range of functions and venues I have developed an amicable persona necessary for any entertainer working with the public.
Most prominent regular venues have included ……..
1983-1984 The famed Thommo's Beer Garden at the then Mooloolaba Hotel on Australia's Sunshine Coast.
1990-1997 Café Le Monde. A popular café on Hastings St. at Noosa Heads, one of Australia's prime tourist destinations.
1990- The Village Square at The Hyatt Regency, Coolum, Sunshine Coast.

1990 & 2000 Maleny Folk Festival and Woodford Folk Festivals , Queensland..

1996-1997 The Hamilton Island Resort on the Queensland Whitsundays.
1998 Dranouter Folk Festival, Belgium. Gentse Festen, Belgium. The Rembrantplein, Amsterdam.
1998 & 2000 Adelaide Art Festival

Besides these more regular venues, such as Resorts and Festivals caricatures are a great item on any entertainment program, from private parties, weddings, trade shows, company conferences and conventions, regional shows and festivals to your everyday country pub.

Due to the limited space a facilities required this entertainment could suit any event except funerals,……..but then again….. hmmmmm…... well…. Who knows?!!
Caricatures are in black & white and take from 5 minutes drawn from an easel, if the subject is still. Caricatures can also be drawn roving, however these may take longer depending on the co-operation of the subject , position and lighting. Therefore it is strongly advised that all reasonable steps are taken to accommodate the artist.
Fees are charged by the hour and vary depending on distance and other overheads.

Wayne has been an established, self taught illustrator on the Sunshine Coast since 1985. His early highlight commissions include caricatures for the entire Norwood Football Club, a prominent SANFL team, during their historic Grand Final Victoy in 1984 and tshirt designs for Golden Breed, a prominent surf and sport clothing company.
On arrival in Queensland in 1985 Wayne became known for his radical hand painted T-Shirts which quickly led to him working for a great many years in the Screen Printing Industry specialising in fashion, commercial, habitat and surf/youth culture print design. That same period he worked as a sign writer, working for himself and other sign writers. Through this period he gained his skills in Graphic Design, on account of designing logos for commercial prints and signs/banners.
1986/87 was a renaissance period of productivity, producing a surf comic called Harvey Wavebanga for a few years for Waves Magazine in Sydney, Australia.
Since 1991 Wayne has been commissioned by The Hyatt Regency in Coolum, Queensland as a regular caricature artist in their popular Village Square. This opened window in the Entertainment sector, extending his popular caricature skills for events from private parties to corporate conventions and since then, this has become a key focus in his services as an artist.
Another reason for the success in this area is because, besides being a good entertainment act, it also delivers an end product that people will keep for some length of time, and they have copyright license granted for any non-commercial purpose, such as cut&pasting for birthday invitations or emails etc.

That's 3 times the value!
Other highlights in this category of work includes commissioning by The Hamilton Island Resort, Queensland, Summertime in Europe '98 operating around the café terraces in Belgium, Holland, the Brighton Pier in England, the Adelaide Fringe Festival and Woodford Folk Festival.
As a result of working in public, often under extreme pressure, Wayne has developed a signature style in his line work known as speedhand, which  he teaches to all ages both privately and at various educational institutions.

He now has his own special workshop program, aptly titled, 'Teach Yourself to Draw', which is both practical and holistic and has proved to be very effective, producing some amazing results, even in the most artistically inept students.
Wayne's illustrative capabilities are as diverse in style as his clients and market demand. This is particularly evident in some of his recent works in the Permaculture field. Landscape and structural illustrations have been commissioned to him since his successful completion of the Permaculture Design Certificate Course in 1994. His most prominent being the front cover of author Bill Mollison's, 'Introduction to Permaculture' and the 'Louisianna Army Ammunition Plant' Eco-Industrial Park. ( an initiative of Bill Clinton's Agenda 21.)

His private collections include a variety of themes. These range from tribal/mystical themes to Ocean theme murals and Hype Art (A style of Youth Culture Dadaism) which had media releases during it's exhibition.
