OLYA BOURTASOVA

Although Olya is one of the new kids on the block with Dancing with the Stars, she has been at the forefront of Ballroom and Latin American dance for a long time.

With the professional guidance, developing and tuition from the Russian School of Arts and Dance Sport, Olya has been able to maintain a good quality of styling with her dance.

Prior to making Australia home, Olya worked extensively in her home town of Russia and neighbouring European countries by being part of various dance ensembles and show groups not only with Latin American Dance and Ballroom but also blending in the traditional jazz and modern funk styles to her repertoire.

Before Dancing With The Stars, Olya has been the lead dancer and founder of Tropicana Show mainly through the variety and corporate live circuits via 7 Flavours and although the team has only been together for a little bit over a year, they have been able to so far achieve a rather humble but very impressive repertoire and profile thanks to Olya's discipline methods and wonderful choreography influences.

The Australian public saw Olya make her debut on Dancing with the Stars partnering V8 Supercar driver James Courtney.

Olya is a professionally trained dancer and choreographer with a long and solid history of stage performance and teaching. Strong skills in Latin and Ballroom dancing (also Jazz, Funk, Street Latin and Contemporary) have been developed throughout her years with Russian School of Arts and competitive dancing. Olya is currently the lead dancer, artistic director and choreographer for a successful Sydney-based dance company, an opportunity which provided her with a great deal of teaching experience. This talented dancer’s ability is unrivalled when it comes to show business.
