Clearance

Clearance is a startling physical theatre performance which transports its audience into the world of consumerism. A shopper who has been on a mad spending spree finds that her purchases take on a life of their own. A seemingly innocent stack of boxes devour their shopper and roll to life with a surprising display of box choreography. This animated collection of white goods grow arms and legs then give birth to mysterious bubble-wrapped creatures. These masked bodies find strength in each other then let loose with a dynamic display of acrobatic theatre, only to be upstaged by a surprise package.

SCHOOL WORKSHOP

The standard workshop introduces students to the genre of Physical Theatre. Over the past 12 years Legs On The Wall have deconstructed partner acrobatics, dance and text based theatre to develop their unique style, this workshop includes; Balance Acrobatics and Contact Improvisation: some basic skills that the students can learn in just one session. Performance Tasks: that give the students an opportunity to develop methods of performing that help them to breakdown habitual patterns. Choreographic Principles: Small group tasks will be set to assist the understanding of space, time and dynamics. Students will be encouraged to co-devise utilising the skills they have acquired throughout the workshop.
