Mare and Nellie are the world’s leading violin stunt duo.

Using elements of Tango, violin, fire, circus stunts and physical theatre, their shows create a unique and breathtaking combination of stunts and live music.

The company “Strings on Fire” was formed by Rachele Wildmare (Mare) and Michael Collins (Nellie) in 2006.

With over six hundred performances and three world tours behind them, their passion for creating a new form of corporate and festival entertainment stands out.

“There is nothing else like this around anywhere in the world.” Dave Chameleon, MC at The Snakepit, Glastonbury Festival 2009

This year, two shows are available:  Liqueur Flambé for corporate events and the Strings on Fire Duo for festivals.

Strings on Fire is a zany festival show combining a unique blend of circus stunts, virtuosic violin and spectacular fire.  Lasting approximately 40 minutes, the show uses comedy, unique stunts, music, audience participation and physical theatre to lead the audience on an exciting romantic journey.

Features of the show include:
  • The most dangerous violin duet in the world: Mare standing on Finhead’s shoulders in heels and both playing violin, with their bows on fire.  The crowd provides a fast clapping beat
  • Carmen: Finhead and Mare both playing on only one violin as they dance a tango with extreme attitude and humour
  • Lumberjack Crunches: Finhead performing multiple sit-ups with an axe balanced on his chin, because he can!
  • Finhead playing violin on one knee with a rose balanced on his nose to melt the heart of his girl
