The South Pacific Island Dance Group was formed in 1983, by manager, Rosemary Flood. The group has performed at countless venues throughout South East Queensland, toured Poland for the International Folk Festival, and Kathmandu for the Australian Embassy, also performed for the Ok Tede Gold mines in in the majestic High lands of Papua New Guinea. The group also featured in two movies filmed on the Gold Coast. The group was chosen to perform at the opening of the Good Will Games Concert staged at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, 2001
