Having worked in the entertainment industry for more than 15 years now, Tony has been able to dazzle and delight hundreds of people with his sleight of hand magic, and with a wonderfully bright personality, he wins his audience over as soon as he meets them.
As well as the expected card, rope and coin magic, Tony also uses many unexpected props that can put a smile on the face of the biggest cynics.
Tony’s skills have taken him abroad to many countries, and enabled him to do what he loves doing as a full time occupation – he must be doing something right!
So if the occasion requires close up magic for an intimate cocktail party, or a comedy magic show to entertain a room full of people, then Tony Saunders is the one you’re looking for.

Job Structure
On jobs that only require close up magic, it is best to work on a time structure of roughly 50/60 people per hour. Anything over 180/200 people it is very difficult to get around to every person, even in a three hour call. In this situation it would be advisable to have either two magicians or complimentary entertainment.
For my ”close up/ walk around/ interactive” magic jobs, I always carry enough material for those who can’t get enough magic, and seem to always just want to see “one more trick”. In my close up routines I have the flexibility to adapt to satisfy crowd requirements.
An alternative way of booking entertainment for crowds up to 120 people is for me to perform an allotted time of close up magic before doing a 15/20 minute show. In situations that suit, it may be more appropriate that only the show be performed.
In all my work, providing the best entertainment is paramount. The magic I perform is highly skilled, but it is the personality and enthusiasm I take to every job that carries the show off.
- Some things I have found that help make the event a success are:
- Not performing when people are actually eating, (finger food excepted).
- Not performing while speeches are taking place;
- Appearing for the appropriate amount of time for the number of people at the function;
- Being made aware of special requirements or requests (if any);
- That the co-ordinator of the function is clear on the details of my booking, and what I have been briefed to do;
- It is advantageous to know whether there are any technical requirements, and if equipment will be provided or I’m required to bring my own.
I always do my very best to keep my work to a very high standard, I also try and give the client more than they expected. This way, I have found to be the best way of advertising, I love repeat bookings.
