SALLY MURPHY

SALLY MURPHY

I write, I read, I speak - about books, reading, and following your dreams. Award winning author of kids' books on topics including cancer, death and dementia. Owner of book review site aussiereviews.com.

Bunbury, Perth, WA, Australia

Sally’s life experiences have been many and varied. From starting a family at the age of 18, to becoming a teacher, having six children and building a career as a children’s author and poet, she has always juggled multiple roles and followed her nose to get where she wants to be.

Moving around the state of Western Australia with her husband and children, she became a pro at moving house and town and building a new life wherever she went. Most recently she has completed a Doctorate in creative writing in the hopes of overcoming imposter syndrome – before realising that it was only herself she needed to convince.

A passionate and versatile speaker, Sally is available to speak to audiences big and small  about a range of topics including writing and getting published, getting kids to read, the lessons we can learn from literature, following dreams, staying sane as a mother, the challenges of settling in to country towns and more. She can speak to groups of all ages and backgrounds, can act as an MC, take part in panel discussions and present workshops on written and spoken communication skills.
