In 2007, Jamie signed with the Seven Network and is going to host ‘Australia’s best backyards’.
Jamie has also done exceptionally well as one of the stars on ‘Dancing with the Stars’.

Jamie established Patio Landscape Architecture and Design in 1997 with a small studio and a burning desire to create gardens with a difference.
Since then, Patio has enjoyed tremendous success, and with a team of 12 designers, is in the top five landscape design businesses in Australia. Patio has won over 16 national and international awards and designed commercial and residential landscapes all over the world including Spain, Thailand, New Zealand,USA and Japan. Patio’s designs have been consistently profiled in publications such as Vogue Living, Belle and Marie Claire Lifestyle.

Jamie joined Backyard Blitzas host when it premiered in 2000 and has also been a team member of Nine’s hugely successful Renovation Rescuespecials which brought together the stars of Australia’s popularlifestyle shows as they offered a helping hand to someone deserving of a good turn. In 2003 in addition to Backyard Blitz, Jamie hosted Channel Nine’s wildlysuccesasful Renovation Reality programme, “The Block”.
In 2002 Jamie was the successful winner of the Logiefor Best New Talent, as well as Backyard Blitz taking home the Logiefor Best Lifestyle Programme. In 2003 Backyard Blitz once again took home theLogie for Best Lifestyle Programmeand the tradition looks set to continue with the success of both Backyard Blitz and The Block.
Jamie, originally from Manly in Sydney, spent much of his time in the mining town of Tom Price in north Western Australia before moving to the Gold Coast where he completed high school.
He spent the next eight years travelling and working overseas inEurope, Asia and the United States where he had a successful modelling career.
Jamie is an accomplished gymnast who has performed in cabaret shows as an acrobat and trapeze artist and with the troupe Manpower whichhe also managed between 1990 –1996.
Between 1994 and 1996, Jamie trained with Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas and mastered a special trapeze movement, the Russian flying act.
Jamie featured in James Houston’s photographic art book, Raw, which was shot on location throughout the United States. He also appeared in commercials and twice been a Cleo bachelor.
His television credits include hosting Dig This, a series of short gardening programs for Foxtel, and One West Waikiki, from the maker of Magnum PI, Glen A. Larson, in which he appeared along side Cheryl Ladd.
On returning to Sydney in 1997 he established a landscape designbusiness, Patio, which provides landscape design for commercial and domestic gardens in Australia and Internationally, with clients in the United States and Hong Kong. Over the last four years the business has enjoyed tremendous success and has been profiled in publications such as: Marie Claire Lifestyle, Vogue Living, Belle, Australian House and Garden, Burke’s Backyard Magazine etc.
As well as owning his landscape designing business he has authored two books on landscape design and recently released the ‘Patio by Jamie Durie’ range of garden and outdoor merchandise.
