Jim Stynes has been involved in corporate presentations for a range of large organisations including: Tooheys, MMI insurance, Metway Bank, Melbourne Sports Clinic, Qantas and a number of Real Estate Agents.
Brief History
- From Brownlow Medallist to all Australian footballer, Jim Stynes provided the Melbourne Football Club with an authentic champion.
- This towering ruckman was a consistent player through his AFL career receiving a plethora of awards and achieving much.
- Born in Ireland in 1966, Jim commenced his career at Melbourne Football Club when he had only been in Australia for 3 years.
- Jim developed his Australian Rules football skills through playing gaelic football where he went on to represent Australia in 1987 & 1998 and Ireland in 1990. He was also a member of the all Ireland Gaelic Under 18 champion team in 1984.
- Football is not Jim's only passion. He completed a Bachelor of Education in 1988, exemplifying his love for children and teaching.
- As a co-founder and facilitator of "Reach Youth", a non profit organisation, Jim strives to involve himself in charity work especially for youth, where ever possible.
- 'Reach Youth' focuses on inspiring young people between the ages of 13 and 18 years. Through courses, seminars and camps the organisation teaches children to discover themselves, gain confidence and allow them to reach their full potential in life.
- Jim has received many awards for his work with youth including, the White Flame award in 1995 which is a recognition award for his dedication and commitment towards the needs and rights of children.
- Jim was also a co-founder of another organisation called "Sportscamp" and was also involved in a youth suicide taskforce set up by the Victorian Government in 1997.
- Additionally to the corporate presentations Jim has been involved in, he is a multi talented man who has written a book "Whatever it takes", which was published in 1995.
- He has been the chairman of the Irish Charity Christmas ball since 1990 and has received an award for Melbourne Brand Ambassador for Sport in 1997.
- Nothing has changed in retirement. Jim is as busy as ever combining his 'Reach' responsibilities with special commentary duties on TV and radio.
· Jim has also become the 'ambassador' for the new Colonial Stadium at the Docklands in Melbourne.
