KATRINA BLOWERS

What on earth could possibly entice Katrina to accept a job which forces her to jump out of bed every morning at 3am, have dinner at 4 in the afternoon and go to bed before the next door neighbour's four year old kids?

What on earth could possibly entice Katrina to accept a job which forces her to jump out of bed every morning at 3am, have dinner at 4 in the afternoon and go to bed before the next door neighbour's four year old kids?

Up until 2005 Katrina worked at Nova 96.9 with the wacky duo Merrick and Rosso as newsreader and presenter. She had been with the Nova Newsroom since the very first day on air when a Madonna song started playing through her news bulletin and the phone next to her microphone began to ring.

Since then, it's been an absolute rollercoaster for Katrina, covering the September 11 attacks, the Ansett collapse, the Federal election and the Bali bombings. Before she became Merrick and Rosso's news reader and presenter, she was best known for making 'little lost boy' announcements on the David Jones intercom and dressing up as Tinkerbell for her only waitressing job.....

She then gained some credibility through gigs as a journalist at Channel Ten, 2UE, 2SM and Wave Fm in Wollongong.

Katrina is no stranger to Radio. From April 2000 until 2001 Katrina was newsreader for the Clive Robertson Breakfast Show on 2SM, Sydney. Previously she worked for almost three years as newsreader and entertainment reporter for 2UE Sydney and Sky Radio Australia.

Katrina has also had some exposure to TV work, reporting back in 1996 for Ten Capital News in Canberra and then going on to work for Channel Ten News in 1998.

She has also had a lot of journalistic experience writing articles for several publications including: The Sydney Morning Herald’s Good Living, Cosmopolitan Magazine, Men’s Style Australia, Massive Magazine and The Canberra Times.

Katrina completed her Bachelor of Arts, Communications at the University of Canberra and is currently studying a Masters in International Studies at the University of Sydney.

In 2005, Katrina left Nova 96.9 for a long awaited overseas trip with her husband Tom where they travelled through Europe and the USA for over 6 months.

Katrina arrived back to Sydney in March 2006 and is considering several media opportunities.
