Brief History        

• 1980 ­ wins Australian Unlimited Title, Melbourne
•  Early 80s ­ wins a string of titles for Honda Britain
• 1986 ­ wins the Spanish, Dutch and British Grands Prix
• 1987 ­ World 500 cc Champion with 10 pole positions, seven wins and eight
  lap records from 18 races;
• Australian Sportsman of the Year, awarded Member
  Order of Australia
• 1989/90 ­ wins Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island
• 1991 ­ inducted into Australian Sporting Hall of Fame
• 1992 ­ wins his final 500 cc race, the British Grand Prix.
