Welcome you to ABHI’s to experience fine Indian cuisine. Drawing on influences from the major food regions of India, our dishes use only the best local produce and combine classical traditional recipes with a modern interpretation creating a true culinary experience.

Our commitment to regional cooking sees a combination of tandoori flavours from the north, classics from my native Chennai and seafood dishes from Goa on the west coast.

"There are run-of-the-mill Indian dishes - and there are departures to trumpet about."

""The kitchen alchemists have turned up the heat and, writes Helen Greenwood, all is well."

"Abhis aims to serve some of the more interesting Indian specialities"
The Sydney Morning Herald

"ABHI's takes the Indian meal to another level of existence"
Sunday Telegraph

"Abhi's, in North Strathfield, is an unpretentious BYO catering mainly to locals. But this simple restaurant is serving the best Indian food I have eaten in Sydney. "
The Sydney Morning Herald

"Lucky North Strathfield. Their Indian joint is an absolute winner"
Sunday Telegraph

"All the atmosphere of a local suburban Indian diner but not a samosa in sight."
The Sydney Morning Herald

"We were sold on Abhi's when the godmother of Asian food in Australia. Charmaine Solomon, told us how much she loved it"
Sydney Eats 2009

Sandwiched between a bottle shop and a pharmacy on a busy main road, Abhi's could be mistaken for just another suburban Indian. One glance at the menu, however, and you'll know that Abhi's breaks the mould, cleverly fusing contemporary Western cooking and presentation style with time honoured combinations of Indian spices and ingredients"
Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2009 Score: 14/20

Everything about Abhi's exudes justified confidence. No Taj Mahal or Ganesh interiors here; just warm tones, wooden floors and down light-splashed biscuit and raspberry walls"
Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2008 Score: 14/20

"Two life-size statues flank the doorway of Abhi's nowadays as part of the latest decor update with the look, year-on-year, becoming more modern"
Sydney Eats 2008

"How can you go wrong when your entree looks like dessert? Palak patta chaat: lentil-battered spinach leaves coated in three sauces - date and tamarind, chilli, and mint - looks more like a sundae than a starter. It's devoured just as greedily."
Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2006 score 13/20

"For more of the real taste of India, Abhi's brings a tantalising selection of the Subcontinent's flavours in a contemporary context. Bengali chef Ranjn Choudhury has introduced some dishes from the Mangalore region, known for its distinctively piquant cuisine featuring browned coconut, pepper and cumin."
Sydney Eats 2006

"Taj Hotel-trained chef and Chennai (Madras) native Kumar Mahadevan likes to think regional. Just reading his carefully detailed menus makes your mouth water. Named after his older son, this is Kumar's first restaurant. It is a neighbourhood eatery with a great reputation and welcoming service to match."
SBS Eating Guide to Sydney 2005

"If it weren't for people like Kumar Mahadevan, we certainly wouldn't be eating such good Indian food in Sydney. Since 1990, he's been ensconced at this bustling, comfortable space with the occasional Indian deity and timber highlight, doing the robust sub-continental food we'd expect (tandoori, vindaloo, etc.), plus more interesting dishes."
SMH Good Food Guide 2005 Score 13/20

"One of Sydney's best Indians, Akhi's just goes from strength to strength each year on excellent service, great food and good value. The setting is simple but stylish and service unfailingly friendly."
Sydney Cheap Eats 2005

"Abhi's is buzzing when we get there and find ourselves at a table in the very centre of the front area. The entrees arrive and suddenly the table is full of food."
SMH Good Living Eat Up Keith Austin 7/9/04

Innovative and traditional dishes, coupled with cheerful, friendly young staff and the wonderful aroma of spices, account for this large, well established restaurant's loyal patronage.
Daily Telegraph Restaurant Guide 2004

'Deserves a medal of some hue for longevity, dependability and amiability.Order from a menu strong in sub-continental panache with a mixture of well-judged classics and modern dishes...a night out at a suburban Indian rarely betters Abhi's.'

Tthis Indian restaurant has enjoyed great reviews and is renowned as being child (especially toddler) friendly. Popular menu choices include beef ambotik - a sweet and tangy version of vindaloo and crab chilli masala priced from $12.80.
