New York's wd~50 Whiz to Cook at Bentley Restaurant & Bar
Dufresne and Savage are respectively celebrated for their contemporary and progressive approach to food. The duo will be cooking off in a visually astonishing eight-course dinner - for $350 a head - exclusively to this inaugural foodie event. This culinary journey will come to a climax with a collection of spectacular desserts by Dufresne’s award winning pastry chef Alex Stupak – former Alinea pastry chef and Iron Chef America. Hand picked wines by prominent Bentley sommelier Nick Hildebrandt will also complement each offering. Testament to his talent and flair, Dufresne and his wd~50 Restaurant has seen world acclaim with a host of recognition such as being named Number 45 on the S. Pellegrino World’s Best Restaurant List 2010. wd~50, which opened on April 2003, has also retained a star from the Michelin Guide’s American edition ever since it was awarded in 2006. Headlining in this year’s festival, Dufresne will bring a truly international approach to culinary artistry and contemporary dining. Savage’s inspired and artistic approach to modern Australian cuisine at Bentley Restaurant and Bar has won him acclaim as one of the country’s most talented young chefs. He was awarded Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide Chef of the Year in 2005 and two consecutive chef’s hats rating (every year since opening in 2006.) Adding to his already impressive culinary repertoire is Bentley Restaurant and Bar’s Number 24 ranking in the Australian Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Guide 2010. With a firm stamp in the local and international dining landscape, Savage continues to grace his admirers with his exciting and innovative food.
