Party Themes
Parties can be lots of fun and many times are a challenge to get everyone to loosen up and have a good time. We find that various party ideas work really well.
Joke night
How about a Joke night. Everyone that is invited must tell a joke. For those that are a bit shy, reading a joke can be acceptable. Our advise is to have a tape recorder running as you will have lots of laughs and jokes you want to remember.
Games are also lots of fun at parties. From simple games to challenging games encouraging everyone to be  involved.
Fancy Dress parties
A Fancy Dress party works really well as people can let loose without needing alcohol. Mind you that’s not to say that they will not get into the drinks anyway. With Fancy dress people have something to hide behind or release a part of themselves that they normally don’t show. Can be great fun. And it doesn’t need to be a big party to be a success.
Catering can be elaborate or very simple. You can have caterers come to your venue and supply full on catering, or just finger food. You can ask everyone to bring a plate of food that is no effort on the person hosting the event.
Simple to have it at home. However, you can hire a hall at a reasonable cost. However, if your budget is bigger, then go the whole hog and go to a restaurant. This is more elegant and does limit space pending on the restaurant.
Choosing a theme in line with fancy dress is good. You can have catering, music as well as dress meeting the theme.
What entertainers are good to have at an adult party. Again it does depend on your budget and the venue of your event.
Planning the party
Good planning will ensure the success of any Birthday Party!

Check list

  1. Pick a Date and Time
  2. Make a Guest List
  3. Decide on a Theme. You can have a Fancy Dress occasion that works really well and is lots of funnnn. We have noted some fancy dress ideas below.
  4. Invitations – A formal event / party requires invitations. You can have these printed or be creative and make them yourself adding that personal touch. Be specific about the RSVP as you need to know how many people are coming. This is to avoid more people than your space and planning can handle as well as not to be disappointed when expecting a crowd and only half turn up. If your have a theme, note what the requirements are. Be it a fancy dress or a black tie affair.
  5. Plan the Food – You can organize Catering, or for smaller parties - Make it yourself (hard work) or get everyone to bring a dish.
Start planning early if you're going to prepare the food yourself.  Be sure to test out new recipes ahead of time as you don't want to experiment on your guests!
Whether you're serving a six-course dinner or just entrees, try to plan lots of dishes that can be prepared ahead of time and then just pulled from the refrigerator, or heated and served.  You don't want to spend the entire evening in the kitchen.
Whatever you prepare, be sure to have lots of it and keep platters refreshed so the food always looks abundant and appetizing, even to guests who arrive halfway through the party.
If all this seems like too much work then consider hiring a caterer.  There are many quality Australian Catering that offer you a wide range of food and services for any occasion.

      6.    Drinks – Can be organized by the venue / catering company or for smaller parties BYO. Work out what you will supply. If it is BYO, let them know in the invitation.  Don't forget the ice, you can never have too much ice at a party.

      7.      Music & Entertainment
Hiring the services of a professional entertainer can be the key to a successful party or event.  We have entertainers around Australia ready to offer an obligation free quote to entertain at your event. Just Click Here (directory) to search for the entertainment you are looking for. Here you can choose the entertainer you are looking for such as Acrobats, Bands, Clowns, Comedians, Comical characters, Jugglers, Puppet shows, Belly Dancers and much much more. If you need some assistance, email us and we will make some suggestions.
You can organize a DJ, Band, Musician, Singer or Jukebox. It depends on your budget. You will be surprised to find how economical it is to hire DJ's, Bands, Singers and Jukeboxes. You can even create music complitions yourself creating various CD’s  of music that you have in store or from friends. You can do this with Microsoft Media player. Make up 3 or 4 types of music... start with mellow music, while guests are arriving and getting comfortable, heat it up for when the party is in full swing, then wind things down again when you're ready for guests to start making their move towards the door. If you have a good mix it will stop people wanting to continually change the the music to meet their preference.
       8.      Decorations - Decorations create the perfect atmosphere at a party in the same way that music or  wearing costumes does! You can have a range of decorations such as
    • Balloons
    • Streamers
    • Banners
    • Ribbons
    • Lighting & Lights
    • Candles
    • Novelties

      9.    Games and fun!

     10.  Cleaning Up
At the end of it all there is the cleaning up. If you have caterers the job may be half done. If you leave it till the morning it can be a real headache. You may suggest a prize for the best dress after the cleaning up has been done and encourage friends to help you. All for one and one for all – as the Musketeers would say.
