Having spent a major part of their lives performing, songwriting, recording and touring both at a national and international level Sheyana and Scott hit it off musically when Scott returned to Tasmania after 10 years in Sydney.
Now together for over 3 years they have performed at numerous events, festivals and concerts and also performed live on ABC National Radio. Most recently they supported Renee Geyer at Burnie Civic Centre and Adam Harvey at ABC Country Hour's 60th birthday celebrations.
The duo create a full sound using only vocals, acoustic guitars and stomp-box and bring a unique slant to everything from standards to Top 40 songs from the 60's to current chart toppers.
From a London/ Sri Lankan background, Sheyana Wijesingha arrived in Tasmania at the age of 8 surrounded by a musical family who sparked her interest in rhythms and harmonies. At the age of 14 Sheyana began experimenting in her own style of music drawing from sounds of 70's London mixed with an eastern influence. Sheyana released her debut album "Firehorse" in 2004. It featured the single "Clear Pools of Blue" which achieved airplay on local AM and FM radio stations.
Sheyana is currently receiving airplay on ABC Radio with her song 'Two Birds' which she recorded with Scott. The song was a finalist in ABC Radios Fresh Air competition. Sheyana is now hard at work in pre-production for her next release due out early 2007. Scott Mainwaring began playing guitar in his hometown of Penguin, Tasmania 20 years ago and has played professionally for 15 years with award winning independent Country/Blues outfit Pale Riders.
Besides recording 4 successful Cd's with the band Scott has toured extensively with many of Australia's top acts including Ian Moss, The Angels, Divinyls and as special guest for Midnight Oil on their national Redneck Wonderland tour. "Whether you like to kick up your heels and have a good time or just sit back and listen, Shey and Scott are an exceptional live act not to be missed!"
