Indie Punk Circus from Sydney, amazing live show, brilliant lyrics and ripping muso's combine for an all out ball of FIRE!
Newtown, Sydney, NSW, Australia
"It's like the party at the end of the world."
Ladies and Gentlemen, behold Army Ant.
Yes, the name is kind of boring. But the band are not.
Now that is out of the way.
You could call Army Ant "punk rock", but with only with this qualification: “punk” now means the exact opposite of what it once did.
That doesn't really make any sense, does it?
Comrades Zinonas K (guitar and vocals) Ad Sim K (drums and vocals), and Jeremiah K (bass and vocals) have chiseled away at almost over one million shows (both overground and underground) forming a reputation as an electrifying power-trio. An unstoppable ball of tight dirty danceable punk, with shrieking guitars, thunderous drums, and lyrics evoking a nightmarish world of neon lights and best-looking-corpse contests.
Throw in some sweet backing harmonies for the chicks and you've got something cute enough to take the whole family to, which is why Army Ant have received rave reviews for their live shows,
“..... songs like Japanese Bullet Train prove Army Ant are moving way beyond comparison. This is a band I'm going to see again, and soon.” (Drum Media 14/8/07)
and for their debut EP "Japanese Bullet Train", which was chosen by Sydney's Drum Media as one of their best 12 EP releases of 2007.
This EP is a limited release only available from shows or through the internet, but it is a sampler for their debut album "Paid Presentations for International Cola", currently in pre-production and due to be completed in February 2008.
