Earthen Melodies is made up of Kim Cannan and Sean Steele who are Professionally trained performers and teachers on the Central Coast with many years of experience in all genres. Kim Cannan leads Earthen Melodies and is a well established Instrument tutor on The Central Coast involved inmanylive music scenes and groups. Sean Steele studied Classical Percussion under Steven Morton (Newcastle) and Daryl Pratt (Sydney) attending many seminars and workshops with Evelyn Glennie, Leah Howard Stevens, John Morrison, andmanymore.
Both Kim and Sean hold many Drum, Percussion, and Guitar teaching positions around the Coast including Central Coast Conservatorium of Music, Central Coast Grammar School, Narara Valley High School, Mackillop Catholic College Warnervale, and AvondaleTertiary College.
Kim and Sean are both well respected between Sydney and Newcastle through regular groups and as solo artists performing overmanystyles and venues. Kim’s interest and experience in Cultural Music has extended from years in the industry and a keen ear for writing beautiful songs which lead to her 3 albums; Intrinsic, Jewel Box, and Lullaby, featuring a wide array of Kim’s original music inspired by many cultures including Spain, Ireland, Japan, andmanymore.
Earthen Melodies has sprung from Kim and Sean’s interest to bring cultures together in the harmony of music and with Sean’s experience in Japanese Taiko Drumming and Classical Marimba, and Kim’s amazing cultural diversity on Guitar, Celtic Harp, and other instruments, Earthen Melodies is a combination of Culture, Earth, and Unity.
