How do we do it?

We have the original authentic music, along with hundreds of current song arrangements, which is one of the finest collections in Australia, but even more importantly, the personnel is a fine blend of Contemporary Pop, Rock, Jazz, Latin and Symphonic Music Specialists of long experience in all facets of performance.

The standard size of the orchestra is seventeen to twenty five piece and beyond, but can be reduced to a small band also, suiting specific budget needs.

You may choose the musical content yourself from our repertoire, or leave that in our experienced hands to plan the evening with you.

The Radio Rhythm Orchestra has performed at many prestigious occasions including large corporate functions, weddings, gala balls, dinner dances, anniversaries, concerts, jazz festivals, live television and radio, and celebrations of all kinds and nationalities.

The Radio Rhythm Orchestra have a variety of choices for background music so you can have the desired atmosphere for this important part of the function.

From solo piano or guitar, adding a sax, trumpet, bass, violin, strings or vocalist the required style or theme for a function can be suited.

The music is played at a level at which conversations are easily heard - depending on the nature of the occasion and acoustics of the venue.

Radio Rhythm plays a blend of well known good old tunes including jazz, latin, swing and contempory, from toe tapping to sophisticated, and being danceable later on into the function if required.

The Radio Rhythm Orchestra is often called upon in it's capacity as a JAZZ ORCHESTRA - Here is our history in that area.

Over the nine years of the RRO now plays items of interest from 1880s to modern big band.

To run such a band a library of arrangements is a great help and the RRO library assembled and catalogued by leader and trumpet player Ian Hellings is one of the best private collections in the world. It has over 8,000 pieces 95 % of which are out of print and very rare, with hundreds of transcriptions.

The RRO has performed at Montsalvat Jazz Festival, Australian Jazz Convention, Melbourne Jazz Festival, Jazz at the Mount, and many jazz clubs balls, concerts, benefits, television and festivals.

RRO has been contracted to play at Hayman Island, Le Mirage Surfers Paradise, N.S.W., and W.A.
