Mark Drummer / Vocals
Newest member to the band, Mark Started playing drums at school in 1987 through the Macleod Technical School Band. “I consider this band one of the best bands I have played with. A great time in my life.”
Once I finished school I began playing in various cover bands at pubs and clubs around Melbourne. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to play with many theater productions such as Guys and Dolls, The Boyfriend and Lil’ Abner, and also played with the Seekers and Rolf Harris at the age of 17.
I Played with popular Funk band Wilde Style and with Funk/Seventies band Funky Fever. I also Spent 12 years playing for the Rohan Hammit Elvis Show playing at many large functions and venues around the country.
Influences are rather than the internationally known drummers, I am more inspired by the local Australian drummers such as Darryn Farrugia, Jon Salerno etc.
Band influences would be anything 70’s and 80’s. Favorite song of all time – Play That Funky Music. Just a great song to play !
Ange Lead Guitar
Angelo has been playing the guitar from the age of 12. As a teenager he played in a few kid bands and taught the guitar for pocket money. Had a bit of a spell from playing as a young adult and then got inspired again and bought himself an American Stratocaster as a birthday present for his 30th birthday. Angelo’s musical influences came from his young days when he would listen to Tony Mattola. Admiring his ability to play guitar using various styles including Classical, Spanish, Jazz and Fusion Rock. And now, those Shadows instrumentals that his father would play on his turntable and he would make him listen to when he was very young have embedded themselves in his music appreciation. “I think Hank Marvin of the shadows has an ability to tell a story with his guitar. A unique ability.”
Frank Rythm / Lead / Vocals
Frank played guitar from the age of fifteen to twenty. He left music for a long period and raised a family..After not playing music for a long time, in January 2007 Angelo and Frank got togetherand had a jam. Frank and Angelo
decided to form a band and later found Franco. Later Paul came along and off the band went. Frank loves playing with The Long Gone Daddys and owes a great deal to Ange and Fab who have rekindled his love of music and
taught him a great deal about playing. “I’ve never looked back and hope we can play music together forever”. Frank performs with a great deal of energy which filters through the crowd who have a great time ! Playing has given me a new lease of life !
Paul Bass Guitar
I was heavily influenced by the Beetles, Rolling Stones and the Easybeats. While in a physics class my mates and I decided to start a band even though we only knew a few chords between us! I had a love for drums but couldn't afford a kit so I learnt to play on an old folk guitar my mother gave me.
We began to rehearse an learnt very quickly helping each other along the way. I eventually took on the Bass role and we formed West End. Our first gig was an 18th Birthday party in a garage, we thought we were stars ! The rest is history. I have played in many bands through the years, playing all styles and at various venues throughout Australia. I have has some great times and loads of fun. The older I get the more passion I seem to have for music, especially going back to the Rock and Roll roots of the 60s and 70s. Then along came the Long Gone Daddys and here I am.
