Debase are a refreshing, young, five-piece band who play quirky, sophisticated and diverse rock music
Melbourne, VIC, Australia
What is the purpose of a band biography? Is it to create interest, hype, some sort of recognition? Most of all, what makes us think that you the reader, will a) believe us, or b) care at all.
After all, I could tell you that Debase have just returned from Europe, where, for the last 4 months, they played huge outdoor festivals to sell out crowds. How would you know whether this is true?
So we have chosen to include a number of quotes from a number of sources, in the hope to inject some '3rd party plausibility' into what would otherwise be considered a largely fictional document.
"Debase are a refreshing, young, five-piece band who play quirky, sophisticated and diverse rock music."
".....rumble along in the Tool vein....."
".....a two pronged rap attack (without the American accent, thank God), that sounds like early Skunkhour".
"Most importantly, this band get off on the music they produce, clearly evident during a live set".
".....uniquely Australian space-rock-rap". Patrick Donovan, E.G. The Age
".....a cross between Motown and the Prodigy". Espy Punter
"They rock, and the singer's cute".Billy Walsh, Cosmic Psychos
"Damn funky shit that, and I like the keyboardist's socks". Tristan, A.K.A. Mr Satan, The Fuck Fucks
".....and still to come we're gonna break local Melbourne band Debase who I saw live a couple of weeks ago....." Troy Ellis, OZ Made, 101.9 Fox FM
