Daniel Weltlinger is an internationally renowned Sydney-based violinist whose credentials include work with a host of highly acclaimed artists/ensembles including Lulo Reinhardt, Monsieur Camembert and Nadya’s 101 Candles Orchestra amongst many others. Drawing from an extensive repertoire that includes Swing Jazz, French Chansons, Italian/Latin popular song, Yiddish Klezmer and Classical standards Daniel can perform solo or put together an ensemble to suit any occasion or event.
Daniel Weltlinger is one of Australia's most unique and original musicians. Born in Sydney and of French-Hungarian-Israeli-Jewish descent he is predominantly a violin player with an ear and an eye for a mix of Gypsy-Swing, East-European-Klezmer and Experimental music and is world-renowned for his distinctive sound and improvisational approach in these musical genres.
His main Australian-based projects "Zohar’s Nigun" and "The Asthmatix" fuse Jewish themes and Kabbalistic-inspired improvisation within the respective contemporary frameworks of Jazz and Hip-Hop, and he has additionally been a long-time co-performer with the acclaimed German-Gypsy guitarist/composer Lulo Reinhardt performing to audiences around the world. He frequently collaborates as a solo recording/performance artist with some of Australia's top musicians in a variety of different formats and is highly sought after both nationally and internationally for his technical and musical mastery over his main instrument.
