'Spectacle' is an all-encompassing musical extravaganza created by me, Brad Jenkins. I am an avid musician who plays a variety of instruments, best known for my versatile vocals, unique guitar stylings and manic cross-genre performances.
My musical career has included juggling electric guitar and bass while singing for arguably Western Australia's most popular touring cover band 'Dirty Blonde.' For 3 years, with a few intermissions and line-up changes, I fronted the 3-piece building a reputation as the party-starters in the diverse regional WA towns including Broome, Kalgoorlie, Coral Bay , Exmouth, Kalbarri, Geraldton, and Karratha to name a few.
During this time I managed to put a shortly lived project 'The Spring Collection' together utilising some of Perth's most talented and zany musicians. After only a handful of gigs we rocketed into the grand final for WA's premiere band competition, Next Big Thing, taking out the songwriting award for 2007 with my adroitly penned tunes in all of their seductive and belligerent glory. A few of these songs can be heard on my home produced mini-album 'Hermit. .I can hate,' one of which was picked up and played by national broadcaster, Triple J. Attaining recognition for this first home-job with little money, experience or equipment, and playing all instruments myself, gave me impetus to continue delving into the world of production. Creating electronic-music and collaborating with other digital artists is the realm I spend most of my musical juices at the moment, a very different dimension to my live vocal/guitar driven performances which often surprises my fans.
Currently I reside everywhere and nowhere, touring WA with occasional trips to the Eastern states to show off my one-man-band. In the last six months I have solidified myself as one of the state's most professional and exciting soloists displaying a fresh approach that appeals to a greater number of people (see songlist). Spectacle has become the number one cost-effective choice for restaurant vibes, rowdy Friday nights at the pub, and now being heavily booked for weddings purely through word-of-mouth. Between these shows which pay for the mountains of musical equipment I am accumulating, I follow my passion for writing and playing my own songs, currently as a soloist.
My show is unique, and I play and write like no other musician you have heard. I am uncompromising, lyrically challenging, and philosophical whilst still retaining the beauty of earnest music and catchy pop melodies. Welcome - to the new and ever-improving Spectacle show
