Darren & Sharon Carpenter, are twins born six months apart, from Kempsey. They never really fitted in to life on the farm, and were hopeless at just about everything, until that magical day they discovered one of Dads old vinyl records – Those “Other Carpenters”. Not only did they look similar, but they shared a family name. Darren & Sharon have hit the road singing all the songs those other Carpenters made famous.

Written by Darren Mapes and Linda Nagle and starring Lisa Adam and Darren Mapes The Carpenters from Kempsey take you on a hilarious journey whilst reliving all the wonderful music of The Carpenters including Close To You, Yesterday Once More, Ticket to Ride, Rainy Days and Mondays, Calling Occupants, Jambalaya, Mr Postman, Top Of The World, Superstar, Goodbye To Love, Only Yesterday, There's a Kind Of Hush, Love is Surrender, We've Only Just Begun as well as the odd parody and theme song....
Darren & Sharon truly are Country hicks.  When they talk they're from Kemspey, when they sing, they pay homage to the beautiful sounds of  those "Other Carpenters".  The show is hysterically funny and the songs are so memorable you can't help but sing-a-long.
The Carpenters From Kempsey made their Sydney Debut in a sell-out season at the Statement Lounge at Sydney's State Theatre Oct 2005.  Since then they have appeared at Star City Casino Show-room for Aus Show-biz Cares, Yippeeyiyo Restaurant (residency), numerous corporate events, and most recently a sell-out season at the internationally acclaimed Adelaide Cabaret Festival.
