The first of its kind, Aki’s Indian High Tea plays on the popular High Tea concept to offer an exotic yet regal treat of an event with a distinctive Indian flavour. Kicking off on Sunday, October 3rd at Aki’s picturesque Woolloomooloo Finger Wharf location, Aki’s Indian High Tea brings together a collection of delightful and indulgent sweets, savouries and drinks, to be enjoyed in an atmosphere rich with Indian culture and custom. The bespoke menu, designed by acclaimed Indian chef Kumar Mahadevan, is peppered with traditional Indian treats and more than a few culinary surprises. Dishes such as the delicately spiced Dahi Vada - lentil dumplings stuffed with sultanas, cumin and topped with yoghurt, and the Prawn Pani Poori - cocktail prawns served in crispy round pockets with a refreshing green chutney of mint and coriander – showcase Mahadevan’s skill for subtly flavoured contemporary Indian fare. The confectionary menu is no less impressive, with tempting combinations such as the sensuously creamy saffron laced Caramelised infused Basmati rice custard guaranteeing sweet dreams. The array of indulgent nibbles is complemented by a selection of Indian themed drinks. From an authentic Indian Masala Tea, to the intense Chilli Chai featuring cardamom pods, ginger, cinnamon, vanilla and chili flakes, guests have the opportunity to taste India like never before. Aki’s Indian High Tea is to be held on the first Sunday of every month from October. With prices starting at just $35 per person, this is a unique experience too good to be missed.
