The Event
The Deni Play on the Plains Festival & World Record Ute Muster is a celebration of all things Australian, bringing together the best of the best for 2 days of top class competitions, demonstrations, live music, extreme sports action and the Australian Music Industry's cream of OZ music both days and nights.

Over 20,000 people make the pilgrimage annually from all corners of Australia and beyond.

How it all began?

A group of community minded people came together in March, 1999, with an inspired vision to bring thousands of people to Deniliquin - a vibrant, personable, small country town on the edge of the Australian Outback.

This group formed a committee to initiate a festival based on enjoyment of, and pride in, our rural identity.

It was decided to make an Aussie icon, the ute, the focus of a world record attempt and the concept took off like wildfire with a Guinness World Record of 2,839 utes in its first year.
Since then that record has been broken each year at the event with now over 7,000 utes making the pilgrimage from all parts of Australia and beyond.
