Siblings Ria, Christine & Ross were always destined for a career in music. The Sydney based trio are following the path carved out by their parents, Jay and Gisele Pirrelli.

The group came to prominence recently when they appeared as one of the Top 12 Finalists in The X Factor 2011. During the competition the judging panel, made up on Ronan Keating, Guy Sebastian, Natalie Bassingthwaighte & Mel B, described the group as the best vocalists in the competition with Mel B even going as far as to say she could see the group with their own show in Vegas.

They have been compared by some as a modern day Fleetwood Mac. Between them they command a unique, signature sound. Describing their sound as adult, contemporary, their influences include Lady Antebellum, The Eagles, Bon Jovi and John Mayer to name a few. “Our music range is quite broad” Ria says. “We’re adult contemporary/classic rock in the way that we write but the influences for the sound of our harmonies is kind of old school”.

Though they’ve only recently achieved national exposure, the group have always been very much involved in the Australian music scene. Along with their parents they have strutted the stages of major events and clubs around Australia and even in the USA. Their experiences have given them the opportunity to learn about the craft of entertainment at a very early age. Harmonies, dynamics, performance technique and most importantly, an understanding of how the industry they are so passionate about works.

Since The X Factor Audio Vixen has been busy performing at special events and major clubs around Australia with their fabulous professional band bringing unforgettable classics back to life by adding their own special touch of beautiful harmonies to some of the greats songs like; Ventura Highway - America, Hotel California - The Eagles, Say You Love Me - Fleetwood Mac, Somebody to Love - Queen and many other great songs written and recorded by their idols.

Some of their more contemporary songs include; Viva la Vida - Coldplay, Valerie - Amy Winehouse, Good Times - Jimmy Barnes & INXS and many more.

Audio Vixen (Ria, Christine and Ross Pirrelli) came to prominence recently when they appeared as one of the Top 12 Finalists in Australia’s 2011 The X Factor. During the competition the judging panel, made up of Ronan Keating, Guy Sebastian, Natalie Bassingthwaighte and Mel B, described the group as the best vocalists in the competition.

Ronan Keating “You deserve to be selling records all over the world”
Natalie Bassingthwaighte “You guys are absolutely amazing”
Guy Sebastian “I could listen to you sing all night”
Mel B “Your harmonies are flawless. I can see you with your own show in Vegas”

Just a few weeks later Audio Vixen was the 4th of the 12 Finalists to be eliminated from the competition. It was Mel B’s deciding vote that sent the group to deadlock against Johnny Ruffo, contradicting her earlier comment about “not going to deadlock”. The decision shocked everyone when she did exactly the opposite which led to Audio Vixen’s elimination from the competition.

Within minutes of the outcome and for weeks thereafter, thousands of angry fans were stunned at the decision and lashed out at the ex-Spice Girl judge with messages on Facebook, Twitter and on The X Factor forum, expressing their disbelief and anger that the best vocalists in the competition could be eliminated from a singing competition and rejecting the idea that the show is not just about singing. Fans believed that if the show was a true indication of a singing competition then Audio Vixen was closer to having The X Factor, whatever that may be, something which the judges had never really clarified with the public.

Audio Vixen left the show with a staggering last performance of the classic Queen song “Somebody to Love” which has since become their signature song and in a true act of professionalism, praised their mentor Ronan Keating, the shows producers and crew as well as all the other contestants.

When the siblings were asked during interviews what they thought of Mel B’s comments “I have to go with what is more marketable” the siblings replied “We knew from day one we weren’t one of Mel’s favourite contestants so it wasn’t a surprise to us that she voted for us to go home. As for her comment that we are not marketable, well one has to ask, marketable to who?”

“You wouldn’t market us to a teen Pop audience any more than you would market Reece to an adult contemporary audience. Are we marketable? Absolutely! You can market anyone as long as you understand what audience demographic the artist belongs to”.

Since The X Factor Audio Vixen has been busy performing at special events and major clubs around Australia with their fabulous concert style show “A Salute to Classic Rock”. In a spectacular 90 minute show the group pays tribute to some of the great rock groups and artists such as Queen, Fleetwood Mac, Bon Jovi, The Eagles, America, Credence Clearwater and many more.

Audio Vixen brings unforgettable classics back to life by adding their own special touch of beautiful harmonies to some of the greats songs like; Ventura Highway - America, Hotel California - The Eagles, Go your own way - Fleetwood Mac, Somebody to Love - Queen and many other great songs written and recorded by their idols.

As for their future plans, the group is currently working on a selection of special songs which they intend to take into the recording studio and release in early 2012.
