Byron Cooke - Broadcaster MC Panellist

Desperate for fame and fortune, Byron Cooke is back on the Sydney scene. After four successful years presenting and producing radio in the States, Byron has returned to his roots to anchor 104.9 Triple M’s new breakfast show ‘The Grill Team.’

For the past 10 years Cooke has been working in radio as a presenter and producer, here and abroad. Before departing for the US he co-host the highly successful ‘Shebang’ national drive time show alongside Fifi Box and Marty Sheargold, rated "the most listened to radio show in Australia" based on AC Nielsen survey results in 2005. Before the Shebang, Byron worked on-air at world famous alternative radio station XFM in London England.

Cooke is a self-confessed ‘media whore’ (def: a person who has a psychological need to get into TV, film, radio or print) and has been known to host up to eight radio shows for different networks all at the same time(!) as well as presenting a Californian breakfast show from a studio in Australia. There are no limits to what this man can and will do.

Byron is a seasoned interviewer and has interviewed hundreds of celebrities and music greats, earning him the label as the ‘The Music Guy’ at Triple M. Some career highlights have been face-to-face interviews with U2, Green Day, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Coldplay, Pearl Jam and Fall Out Boy. From his Los Angeles base Byron also presented ‘Movies that Rock’ for the Triple M Network. He went one-on-one with the biggest names in film including Johnny Depp, George Clooney, Jennifer Aniston, Orlando Bloom, Steve Carell, Anne Hathaway, Chris Tucker and Harrison Ford.

Byron is just as crazy about sport. In 2009 he joined the Sydney Swans Football Club as the teams On Ground MC for every Sydney home game. A perfect fit with the other sport-nut presenters Gus Worland, Stuart McGill and Mark Geyer on Triple M’s new breakfast radio show ‘The Grill Team.’ Byron is Captain of the unseasoned radio presenters, bringing them together to create a winning team.

Currently Byron appears as a regular panellist on the television show ‘The Playlist’ hosted by Andrew Mercado, airing on Showtime. He has proved himself as a great TV panellist with incisive and witty commentary and a good knowledge of pop culture and all things TV.
