Introducing Tony Haley …
Tony Haley, swing
singer, lounge vocalist, ‘crooner’—call him what you will—Tony has been acclaimed as “Australia ’s ‘Ole Blue Eyes”, “Our Very Own Dean Martin”and “The One Man Rat Pack”. With his charismatic style he can set the mood for any occasion from laid back to up beat. His extensive repertoire of the songs of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin is complemented by the hits of other great 20
th century crooners including Bobby Darin and Louis Armstrong and more recently, Michael Buble and Robbie Williams.
Classics such as Beyond The Sea, Wonderful World,
New York
New York , Sway, Everybody Loves Somebody and Mack The Knife are delivered masterfully and sensitively and show off Tony’s considerable range. Indeed, the number of times Tony has had to stop mid-song to prove to audience members that he is not miming are too frequent to mention! Audience members also enjoy it when Tony mingles among them singing through a cordless mic.
Tony can perform in any of the following ways:
-
supported by quality backing tracks and professional production equipment
-
with a four to six piece band, including piano, horns, double bass and drums
-
supported by an 18 piece Big Band with charts to provide a one-hour big-band spectacular
-
in the cabaret show ‘One Night in Vegas’ as Frank, with sidekicks Dean & Elvis
Tony is sought after for corporate and charity events, weddings, casino and club gigs and regularly hones his performances with big bands at jazz and swing festivals.

Recordings
Tony has recorded several CDs over the last 5 years, the most recent of which is 'Cool World', a compilation of classic songs with original arrangements and feels. The title track is a remix of Mondo Rock's Cool World, given a laid back, jazzy feel. Other tracks include Blue Light Boogie, Tobacco Road, Different Drum, You're The Boss and Little Ole Wine Drinker Me.
A Bit of History
Tony’s musical pedigree is 50s rock and roll/rockabilly. He covered Elvis, Buddy Holly, Fats Domino and other R & R greats in his band ‘The Eddys’ drawing a huge following and packing out Sydney’s Wooloomooloo Bay Hotel, in its hey day, on Sundays for more than two years. Tony and The Eddys then joined with Little River band vocalist, Glenn Shorrock in a series of successful stage shows. ‘One for the Money’, ‘Two for the Show’ and ‘Go Cat Go’ toured Australian theatres to rave reviews over four years. During the nineties Tony played with rockabilly band ‘The Comets’, swing combo ‘Indigo Stomp’, and Doug Parkinson’s spin off of The Buddy Holly Show ‘Rave On’.
Highlights and TV
Tony and ‘The Eddys’ supported Frank Sinatra (albeit way down the appearance list) at the opening of the Mirage Resort on the Gold Coast. They also played at the America’s Cup Ball in Fremantle (where they were joined on stage by Jimmy Buffet), at two Grand Prix Balls in Adelaide and opened the Hard Rock Café in Singapore.
Tony has performed on Hey Hey Its Saturday, and The Don Lane, Ray Martin, and Bert Newton shows.
