Established in 1983, the Faye Dumont Singers Inc. is an organisation comprised of two choirs: the Melbourne Chamber Choir and the Melbourne Women’s Choir, as well as smaller occasional choirs selected from its members. The Organisation was created by Faye Dumont after retuning to Melbourne from post-graduate studies at the University of Southern California. Faye has been a driving force in the Melbourne choral scene as the founding president of the Australian Choral Association (now the Australian National Choral Association), convenor of the Australian Choral Conductors Education and Training schools and artistic director of the Melbourne International Choral Festival.

Under her leadership the choirs have earned many amazing and varied opportunities including recording choral music for the Opening Ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, and leading the Classical Spectacular choir at Rod Laver Arena. The choirs have performed on The Footy Show, at product launches for Moet-Chandon and BMW, in nun costumes for a Sister Act gig, and as the chorus for a gospel musical. They have recorded backing music for films and a video game and have sung at many weddings and carol services.

The FDS choirs perform a wide variety of music from medieval to contemporary and have a great focus on premiering new works for emerging Australian composers, especially young composers. The organisation also works to foster bonds between choirs both locally and internationally through hosting annual choral festivals including Choral@Montsalvat and Voices of Women, regularly touring Europe, and collaborating with other groups including the Melbourne and Sydney Symphony Orchestras, Kanazawa Choir (Japan), Cecilian Singers (NZ), Gwent Male Choir (Wales), Women of Note (Bendigo), Adelaide Male Choir and the Melbourne Master Singers.

The Melbourne Chamber Choir and Melbourne Womens Choir are both available as full choirs of thirty or smaller groups down to four singers.
