Daniel is a tough and courageous midfielder who is regarded as one of the best stoppage players in the competition. His ability to win the ball from contested situations has resulted in him becoming a vital player for the Kangaroo’s and leading the club for hard ball gets.
 
Daniel was the Roos' third choice at the 2000 AFL National Draft and he hails from Rushworth, in north-east Victoria and had grooming with the Bendigo Pioneers in the TAC Cup.
 
Harris captained Victoria Country at the AFL National Under-18 Championships in 2000.
 
The 2004 season has proved to be the best of Daniels short career. Ranked in the top five for disposals in the Kangaroos side, Daniel came sixth in the clubs Best & Fairest.
 
In 2007, Daniel played 25 games and finished 7th in the clubs Best and Fairest, a great effort considering the team finished 3rd and played in the preliminary final.
 
In 2008 Daniel showed consistency in each game as well as his trademark  hardness toward the contest. He shouldered various responsibilities during the season and continually showed his determination and thirst to win the contest.
