Moondance is Melbourne’s premier function band - if the occasion is big, you need the best: Moondance will guarantee your guests will be talking about your function long after its over. They have the talent, the personnel, the songs and the enthusiasm to inspire and add dazzle to any occasion.
Moondance regularly performs for the top Corporations in the country- Toyota, L’Oriel, Ford , Australian Tennis Open, BMW, Hewlet-Packard, AAMI, Racing Victoria, to name a few.
Moondance comprises 6 members-this includes 5 vocalists and four instruments which allows them to adapt to any style and mood so as to engage the crowd and generate an incredible atmosphere. The band extends up to 10 piece for larger functions where a full brass section is added as well as a conga player/percussionist. This creates a dazzling and exciting sound which sets up an awesome atmosphere at their functions.
The Members of Moondance:
Henry Diner - is the leader and manager of the band and plays keyboards and sings. Henry has been performing for many years in a number of bands and has built up a reputation for delivering the very best both from his keyboards and from the band. He taught piano for many years and has successfully completed 7th Grade in performance. He used to play with legendary Australian bands Madder Lake and the Skyhooks.
Bob Minshull - is the guitarist in the band and also the main male singer. Bob is originally from Sydney where he was one of the top guitarists in the state, being asked to back all the international shows that came to Sydney, as well as, playing in a multitude of touring bands around the state. Bob teaches guitar at a number of schools and music schools around Melbourne where he sees a large number of students face to face and he has a long waiting list for new students. Bob has played with artists ranging from Cliff Richard and Shirley Bassey to Men at Work and Colleen Hewitt.
Sagit Lourie - is the main female vocalist in the band. She has been with the band for over 5 years and has established herself as one of Melbourne’s premier singers. She performs an incredible range of songs, from current dance tunes to Jazz standards. She also sings in Italian, Spanish, Portugese, Greek and Hebrew. Sagit performed overseas for a number of years, mainly in Houston, Texas.
Joe Correnza - is the bass player and male vocalist in the band. He has been with the band for 6 years and before that was a member of two very successful local bands: Best Kept Secret and Not So Serious who worked around Melbourne 4 to 5 nights a week for many years. Joe has a performing background - his father ran one of Melbourne’s most successful bands for many years in the 60’s and 70’s. Joe is also an accomplished guitar player.
“Bones” Elliot - is the drummer in the band and a founding member of Moondance 7 years ago. His drumming has ‘legend’ status in Melbourne where he was with Russel Morris for many years as well as Streetlife, Network,Vince Jones, Doug Parkinson to name just a few. He even toured with Santana around Australia in the 70’s. In more recent times he played with “Kids in the Kitchen” for a while. Bones teaches drums most days of the week as well as performing.
Nikki Nicholls - The band’s other female vocalist for the last 2 years. Nikki has a niche in the Australian music industry: numerous TV appearances, toured with Kylie Minogue, Farnham Band for 3 years, Paul McKay Sound to name a few. Nikki has been ‘the voice’ in TV jingles over many years being renowned for her recording studio work. Nikki has also written songs which have been released overseas.
